SIGRE

DISTRIBUTION

SIGRE uses a closed management or inverse logistics system to collect unused medicines, making use of the same channel used by the pharmaceutical laboratories to distribute their products to the consumers.

The Spanish pharmaceutical distribution network lends SIGRE its technical and human resources via the National Federation of Associations of Wholesale Distributors of Pharmaceutical Specialities (FEDIFAR), taking care of the collection and storage of unused medicines deposited at the Punto SIGRE by members of the public.

Pharmaceutical distribution warehouses perform important functions for the healthcare sector by:

  • Certifying that the products they acquire and supply are genuine.

  • Guaranteeing the traceability of each batch placed on the market to enable them to be withdrawn if necessary, thereby minimising any risks to health.

  • Guaranteeing control of the traffic of substances and products covered by special control measures.

A new environmental function has now been added to these healthcare functions: The Spanish pharmaceutical distribution network lends SIGRE its technical and human resources via the National Federation of Associations of Wholesale Distributors of Pharmaceutical Specialities (FEDIFAR), taking care of the collection and storage of unused medicines deposited at the Punto SIGRE by members of the public.
